3. Apple
Ireland has been home to Apples European headquarters for the past 40 years, with an exciting expansion on the cards that will see the requirement for skilled engineers and technicians increase. A multimillion – euro facility will be set up on the Cork campus that will focus on being an engineering and test facility.
4. Facebook / Meta
Facebook is the worlds largest social networking service in the world. In 2008 Facebook invested in Ireland, setting up their EU headquarters in the heart of Dublin. Facebook has identified Ireland as a great investment opportunity for technology based companies, and have showcased their long term commitment by investing in a 14 acre campus that will have capacity to hold thousands of employees.
5. Google
Google has maintained its position as the world’s largest search engine since 2000, and currently boasts having 86% of the search market shares. Google not only selected Dublin as their choice for the home of their European headquarters but also for one of their data centers. Their current workforce sits at around 8000 people of which half of contractors.
